He said Star Trek is too “philosophical”? Screw that noise.

mechcanuck:

I don’t know when this interview happened but I AM SAD AND ANGRY NOW

The philosophies in Star Trek are kinda part of the actual setting. If you don’t get that, why are you allowed to make Star Trek movies.

Sigh. The whole point of Star Trek is that it’s philosophical. If you don’t want philosophical Science Fiction, there’s plenty of that for you to enjoy, but Star Trek is philosophical. Philosophy is part of Star Trek’s DNA, and if you’re given the captain’s chair, you’d better damn well respect that.

Makin’ me sad JJ.

tokugami asked: Hey Mike, I heard on the HJU podcast when you were talking about 1994 and Blue Swat, so I was wondering what your beef with that show is? It seems okay from what I saw of it.

Blue SWAT is cool in look and concept, and more Ko Domon (actor who played Sig and Kamen Rider ZO) is always awesome. However I was kind of bored when I got to actually watching it. Even as a kid, I never really got into it all that much.

i want the world to appreciate this message

If it’s any consolation: There’s a guy who I worked with this semester who refuses to watch Cowboy Bebop. When asked why, it was because of the fandom.
He followed this up by saying he refused to watch Gunbuster because of the name.

Getting to the bottom of Mari's existence in Evangelion

  • Steph: I dont see why [Mari] is necessary other than more merchandising.
  • Me: Maya Sakamoto was being stalked by Yoko Kanno after she abandoned her post-Cowboy Bebop, and Hideaki Anno was the only one who could protect her?
